Final Music Video Fedback

This is the feedback my group and I received on our final music video. The music video has definitely  improved from the first draft but it look like it can still be improved for some people but as its a class feedback many people have different options and that why their feedback varies depending on their own personal views. However the feedback we receive is very useful and it helps us understand on the spots we can improve on and develop.

Final Video

This is our Final Music Video which is completed. I am really happy with these Final results however it can always be improved. Theres one small scene I feel needs improvement where the artist is leaning on the balcony outside and the lip sync looks out of place however it was actually perfect. The issue was the way our actor Jacob was singing the song, his lips move different and it looks like the sync is out of place.

I feel like the music video has turned out exactly like I wanted it to be like. As I was the director of this Music Video I had an image in my head at the start of how I wanted this music video to look like and even when we made the plans, there had to be a few changes done but the final result did turn out exactly how I wanted it to be.

Overall I am very pleased with this Music video and I don't think it needs many more improvements or developments.

Final Music Video Complete - Editing Process Blog 4

I have completed all the editing for this music video and my group and I are now fully happy with the music video. We feel that it has turns out exactly like we wanted it to from the plan we started at the beginning of the course with our drawings and ideas. We felt that what we imagined in this music video was exactly what we achieved and the final product was great.

I still feel it can be improved but we may not have enough time to improve it and we didn't really have a huge budget with high quality equipment.

The editing process was very interesting and it was very hard to get the video and the audio synchronisation on time without delays and to make the video also look very smooth, but after a long time of editing and testing with video filter and colour/saturation, we found the perfect look for our music video.

The obstacles we were confronted with in the course

While creating our music video like everyone we too were faced with obstacles and challenged to face in order for us to achieve our final product. These challenges and obstacles had to be faced and we either fixed the issue or we worked our way around them in order to get our final product.

One of the issues we had was the equipment we were provided with. Some of the facilities such as cameras and tripods were being used by other students and therefore to resolve this issue, I decided that I will use my camera and tripod to film our music video. The School camera were also appearing to be very shaky and therefore my Canon camera I had had auto-stabilsation which improved the video shakiness.

The other issue was the costume. The costume our artist Jacob was wearing was suiting more of a Grime genre and therefore to resolve this issue we had to rethink the costume and make it look more Hip Hop as Jacob was wearing Grime style clothing.

We also had the issue of lack of actors for the gang scene. We had to resolve this issue by replacing that whole scene into a night scene with the artist just on his own.

The narrative of the video was very unclear and the audience we showed it to didn't understand it. The artist was meant to show his life before and after. Before the artist was involved in gang life but now he tried to run away from that life and have money and fortune with his new hit song. To resolve this narrative issue we cut some scenes out and changed the narrative slightly into the artist showing his fame and fortune yet he still cannot get the girl he loves.

Filming the last scene - Production Blog 8

Today we reshot the final scene we needed which was officially where the artist was in the Chip shop but we changed it to outside on the street. We decided to reshoot the scene as it was shaky and the pan at the end was too early and cut too abruptly as well.

I didn't like the chip shop scene at all and therefore I wanted to film it elsewhere and without the gang being behind him. This shot is now finally done and all thats left to do is finishing the editing, change the brightness and colour and then syncing the music with the video.
